Each year we'll try to do one major improvement to keep A & J Villas as nice in the future as it is today. This page will highlight the current project with pictures and stories of our experiences.

This year apartment one was the first apartment available in the spring so that is where we began. The only item that needed immediate attention was the two beds in the first bedroom. These needed to be replaced and have been! Since we were focused on that room anyway, there was one thing we really wanted to change and that was the panelling. After much discussion we decided the quickest solution would be to paint over it.

We didn't know what that would lead to however. Picking the colors was hard as neither Julie or I feel very confident in our decorating sense. Once the colors were selected and we began to paint we thought we might have made a terrible mistake. We were afraid the colors were too bright so we decided to paint the panelled wall the trim color but that was even brighter!

The solution was to sponge paint two lighter colors to tone down the back wall. It worked wonderfully if we do say so ourselves. Once the room was put back in order we were very happy with the results and hope you are too.
